The Matrka-s (Unknown Mothers) are, exoterically, known to be representative of the various categories of letters.
Said to be 7. They are said to be "7 Sisters" who make up the Pleiades star cluster. (Yet sometimes numbered as Eight.) And sometimes numbered as One, which refracts into various "Gods"
"Indras Net" of China may be similar to the "Garland of Letters" cited by the sages farther to the West.
('Indras Net" concept is said to come from Chinese Buddhism. And Malini / Goddess - who is the Garland of Letters which binds us, is "Tantric" and specifically Kashmir Mountains associated)
